9 NBA players take the court for first time at All-Star game

DALLAS — They walked around like kids at Disney World, looking at one another in disbelief, trying to comprehend their new status in the basketball world.
"No matter what happens the rest of our lives," New York Knicks center David Lee said, "we can say we were an All-Star. I'm not going to go around saying I'm on the same level of LeBron James, but I'm an All-Star, just like he is."

Lee, who forfeited $2,000 worth of airline tickets to attend a friend's wedding, was among nine first-timers on the East and West rosters for Sunday's All-Star Game at Cowboys Stadium.

"It's a testament to the league and how hard these guys have worked," said Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, whose ankle injury kept him from playing Sunday. "They're the next generation. What's nice, too, is that you can also see the respect they have to their peers."
