Brazil Ousts Spain From Top Spot in Global Soccer Rankings

April 28 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil has pushed European champion Spain down to second place in world rankings compiled by FIFA, soccer’s governing body.


Five-time World Cup champion Brazil has topped the global ladder for a total of 142 months since 1993, FIFA said in a statement on its website today. It’s the seventh time the country has claimed the top spot.


Portugal is in third after it moved up one place. It’s the highest ranking for the nation since the ladder was introduced in 1993.
