Zubi Advertising overwhelms competition in 2011 Fox Hispanic Media scavenger hunt

Fox Hispanic Media announced that Zubi Advertising is the overwhelming victor of the network consortium’s annual scavenger hunt event. Created just five years ago by FOX Deportes, the Scavenger Hunt is a fully interactive process that immerses the media buying community into the Fox Hispanic Media brands. In its first year The Scavenger Hunt had only 40 participants, but quickly expanded to more than 160 players after just three years. This year a record-breaking 350 participants got involved, representing about 40% of the Hispanic media buying community.

The interactive promotion pits the country’s top advertising professionals against each other in a fun, experiential competition designed to showcase the network’s assets. Since 2006, a variety of clients and agencies have taken part in the game, which prompts participants to search for answers to questions about the full portfolio of Fox Hispanic Media brands, including FOX Deportes, Utilisima, and Nat Geo Mundo.

“The advertiser participation is stunning. Emails phone calls, message boards and “live mentions” feature buyers clamoring for answers about our brands,” explained Tom Maney, SVP, Advertising Sales, Fox Hispanic Media Group. “We hope they enjoy the process, which provides us a fun and interactive way to engage with our key partners.”

This year’s Scavenger Hunt generated more players than even before and included three online games that encouraged regular visitation to the site, all of which increased exposure to the Fox Hispanic Media brands.

Some 2011 Scavenger Hunt Facts:

• Allowed Fox Hispanic Media to keep in touch with clients during the hibernation period when other methods are often fruitless.

• Educated the community about the Fox Hispanic Media offerings at a time when major buying decisions are made. 

• Offered a once-in-life opportunity to use the platforms FHM employs to service its clients. i.e. using SMS quizzing, watching the network, surfing the website and interacting with ad sales site.

Prizes were at stake during the competition as well as points that could be earned to qualify for the grand prize trip to the UEFA Champions League Final game in Europe. Other prizes included: cooking classes, Visa Gift Cards, Spa Finder Gift Cards, digital cameras, and iPads.

“The 2011 Scavenger Hunt has given us more players than ever before, and we’re thankful for everyone’s participation,” said Maney. “We’ve enjoyed superior traffic to our Ad Sales site, foxhispanicmedia.com, educated our clientele about our brands, and benefitted from having buyers reach out to us regularly.”

Zubi Advertising soared above the competition with more than 8 million points, or more than triple the amount earned by any other agency. The second and third place winners were Starcom and Orci agencies, respectively.
