Soccer (football? fútbol?) fans, rejoice: Streaming games just got easier

In the world of streaming video sports packages, FuboTV is a far cry from the likes of ESPN3 and MLB.TV. But the Manhattan-based service aims to become a player in the growing world of streaming sports programming, starting with the soccer games it now provides to diehard U.S. fans of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and other international teams.

FuboTV, which launched in January and calls itself the largest online provider of live, curated, streaming soccer content, just raised $4 million in a Series A round. It will use the money to build on its programming, continue updating its technology and add 10 employees to its current 18.

The round, announced Tuesday, was led by DCM Ventures and included investments from media executives, including Sling Media co-founder Blake Krikorian.
